The Owner
Jay Peterson
Owner · Homestead Energy
Jay Peterson has owned and led this business for 10 years — first as a franchise, and since August 2026 as the fully independent Homestead Energy, so every decision gets made here in Kansas City instead of a corporate boardroom. Before that, Jay spent 12 years running his own consulting business in the custom clothing industry, working with many of the same kinds of clients he serves today.
Jay grew up in Platte City, Missouri, and went to the University of Missouri, where he met his wife, Bri. They have three daughters — Avery, Audrey, and Allie — and two dogs, Lulu and Oakley.

Patrick Kloiber
Head of Installation
Patrick has been with Homestead Energy since 2020 after spending a decade working for the manufacturer Alside. With over 40 years of experience in the window and door industry, he is one of the most knowledgeable experts in the city. Patrick’s ability to spot issues before installation allows for a much smoother process and the best long-term results. He is married to Michelle, and they reside in the Pleasant Hill area.
Cari Burch
Director of Operations
Cari joined our team in 2021 after years running operations for larger companies in the auto and marine equipment industries. She keeps every account organized and is the friendly, helpful point of contact homeowners reach with questions about their project, invoices, or payment options. Cari and her husband, Frank, live in the Blue Springs area, where they stay busy as parents, grandparents, and members of their church family.
Charlie Rinehart
Senior Project Consultant
Charlie joined our team in 2018. A Bonner Springs native, he played college golf before transferring to Kansas State University, where he earned his degree in marketing. Charlie brings real professionalism to every consultation, and his attention to detail and low-pressure approach have earned him excellent rapport with homeowners. He lives in the Westwood area with his wife, Kristina, and their son, Samuel.
Brandin Minder
Senior Project Consultant
Brandin joined our team in 2019 after a couple of years in ticket sales with the Cincinnati Bengals. He grew up in a small farming community outside Springfield, Illinois, and is a graduate of the University of Louisville. Within a few months Brandin was promoted to Senior Project Consultant, and he has been named Senior Project Consultant of the Year multiple times since. Homeowners say working with Brandin feels like working with a familiar face.
Brandon Oehm
Senior Project Consultant
Brandon joined our team in the spring of 2020 after three years in corporate sales. A Kansas State University marketing graduate, he is known for being approachable and relatable, and for building long-term relationships with the homeowners he works with. Brandon lives in Overland Park with his wife, Bailey.
Jonathan McCormick
Senior Project Consultant
Jonathan joined our team in the spring of 2022, bringing a strong work ethic and a background in leadership. He is a retired U.S. Army veteran who served primarily at Fort Riley in Manhattan, Kansas, with multiple deployments. Before joining us, he spent several years in upper management at Pretzel Inc., sharpening his operations and management skills. Homeowners know Jonathan for his exceptional customer service and thorough follow-up. Jonathan and his wife, Michelle, live in the Gardner, Kansas area.
